Designer Note: Barangaroo Reserve is a celebrated Sydney site, transformed from an industrial area into a natural haven. Opened in 2015, it features 75,000 native plants chosen to recreate the landscape as it existed before European colonisation in 1788. Named after Barangaroo, an influential Indigenous woman, the reserve combines nature with cultural significance. Its sandstone headland, crafted from excavated materials, and terraced gardens offer visitors a glimpse of Sydney’s pre-colonial environment, making it both a public space and a tribute to Australia's Indigenous heritage.
