Since 1934, Bevilles has been part of Australia’s retail story, evolving from a homewares store on Bourke Street, Melbourne, into a national jewellery brand with a growing digital presence and 37 stores across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland. 

We’ve always believed that jewellery should be beautiful, accessible, and part of everyday life. 

That belief has shaped who we are today: a brand built on affordability, convenience, and over 90 years of heritage, now backed by the scale and strength of the ASX-listed Michael Hill Group. 

How We Got Here 

It all started with Leo and Rae Beville, who opened a store in Melbourne in 1934 selling everything from blankets to chandeliers. By the 1950s, jewellery and diamond rings had taken centre stage — and Bevilles quickly became one of the city’s leading jewellery and giftware destinations.

In the late 1990s, the next generation stepped in. Michelle and Gary Beville expanded the business, building a brand that connects with people’s special moments and everyday style.

Then came a bold shift in 2014: Bevilles restructured, rebranded, and relaunched as a jewellery-only business — with smaller, smarter stores and a renewed focus on delivering beautiful pieces and exceptional service.

In 2023, Bevilles joined the Michael Hill Group — a move that’s helping us scale faster, reach further, and serve more Australians than ever before.
